Upon completion, Great Festival Park is also slated to include a one-acre free-form fantasy pool, game room with arts & crafts area, a snack bar concession store and a playground.

Since development began in the mid 1970's, Lake Arrowhead has seen sustained development for almost forty years. Today Lake Arrowhead is a subsidiary of The Johnson Development Corp. The Johnson Development Corp. is responsible for the highly successful residential golf communities of Towne Lake Hills and BridgeMill, both of which are located in Cherokee County.

While Lot Owner's are free to select a Builder of their choosing, the Developers have approved two Home Builders who offer a range of exception homes and floor plans. These are Majestic Lifestyle Builders, D.R. Horton Home and Resize properties.

The new championship 18-hole Highlands Golf Course is now considered one of the best new golf courses in Georgia and was voted the best Cherokee Golf Course by Cherokee Magazine in 2010. Opening to rave reviews in the Fall of 2008, the course was designed by renoun Atlanta architect DJ DeVictor, who has designed other course throughout the USA, St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, Mexico and Turkey.

With five sets of tees at each hole, The Highlands is both challenging enough for experts, yet forgiving enough for beginners and casual golfers alike. Five of the holes are from the original course, but DeVictor has redesigned the greens and tee boxes around these, while creating 13 brand new holes each boasting a unique elevation. The Highlands Course measures approximately 7000 yards from the tips and features full-service practice facilities including a driving range and chipping and putting greens. The Club is semi-private and boasts a 10,000 square foot Clubhouse.

Lake Arrowhead’s new Golf Clubhouse features a well-stocked PGA Pro Shop, men’s and women’s locker rooms, formal and casual dining rooms and an outdoor dining porch. The Highlands Grill is open to the public Tuesday through Sunday and features a variety of menu options from lighter bar fare to full-course dinners as well as catering services and full menu of wines by the glass and bottle.
